LAO is a friendly 1998, 14.3 hh, black, grade Arabian gelding. His name comes from the song, Lao' a Lao' by Prince Royce. Lao would be suitable for an intermediate rider. Due to his age, his weight restriction is 165 lbs. including tack. Lao is a former 4H gaming horse so he has a more forward gait and loves to run. Don’t expect a leisurely walk around a barrel! If you lead LAO, he is great with kids on board. He has been ridden both Western and English (English saddles are lighter so this would help with his weight restriction). Due to his training, LAO has fabulous ground manners, and he stands tied and/or in cross ties like a pro. LAO is not an easy keeper. He needs good hay (such as alfalfa) or grass and gets grain 2x day (with water to cover); this slows down his eating and prevents him from choking. LAO is good for the farrier though he does tense up his back legs, so a patient, kind farrier is much preferred. A verse from Lao' a Lao', by Prince Royce, translates to:
