Lorenzo (2012, 14.3hh, Chestnut, Saddlebred Gelding) was well named as ‘Lorenzo’ is associated with strength, courage and honor. This mild-mannered Saddlebred was a pasture pet for 10 years. Then Lorenzo lived, for about 30 days, with a trainer who treated him both poorly and roughly. Lorenzo, most recently, was used as a lesson horse. He is fine around kids, and he was assigned to advanced riders, but Lorenzo had trouble with the constant change in riders and had difficulty adjusting to them because he is very ‘forward’ and couldn’t relax. Lorenzo never did anything unsafe but standing still or walking, while mounted, was difficult for him. Eventually the lessons became more about working on Lorenzo instead of rider instruction. For those reasons he is now looking for a new forever friend and home. Lorenzo needs an experienced rider who will connect with him, be his only rider and use a bitless bridle. He is sound, shoeless and healthy although he could put on some weight as he is at the bottom of the pecking order and herd bound. Lorenzo is lovely to meet, leads well and is respectful. He snorts, like a Saddlebred, when in a new environment but has never even been pushy. Lorenzo loves human company but does not like assertive/aggressive dogs. Just meet Lorenzo and you will fall in love!
