Smith

Smith (JC Permit to Carry) is a KY-bred, MN-raced 2012 bay gelding.  He earned $35,182 in 18 starts.  He retired from racing in 2017 and was retrained as a hunter/ jumper in Ontario, Canada.  He was a 1.0 meter jumper with basic lateral work on the flat.  In February 2025, he presented as sore under saddle, seemingly related to mild cervical arthritis and kissing spine. His xrays and hoof flexions were normal.  He was retired from competition and referred for retirement to This Old Horse. Polite on the ground, but has a TB personality, i.e., he walks quite briskly and will perk up and look at things. Perfect for the farrier and easy for any vet procedures (i.e., dental float).
